PostScript: This blog is certainly not the venue for such heavy topics. But so many of my friends, acquaintances, associates see this differently than me, I felt that I had to at least give my voice to this. Tomorrow we should be back to our regularly scheduled blogging.
There is nothing more precious than life and as always Angela shares her heart and soul with us, in the hope that we see or can be shown a great truth.

In keeping with everything else about our adventure in Iraq, even the task of bringing Saddam to justice was allowed, in the end, to became politicized. We allowed it to be turned into a repulsive charade of Shiite vengence.
Hitchens was one of the bloviating pundits that strongly advocated the invasion of Iraq. I now usually ignore almost anything he has to say. However, he’s right about our role in the conduct of Saddam’s execution. In another instance of inept blundering, we’ve allowed one of the worst dictators on the planet to be turned into a martyr for the Sunni cause.
Great work. Once again, “Mission Accomplished.”

We all seem to forget that “vengeance is mine, saith the Lord.” It’s not a proper human response. Although I do expect that, like Desi Arnaz, God is now saying “Saddam, you got some ‘splainin’ to do!”

My father once told me that politics and religion were the two topics never to bring up at a dinner party. Or in a fetish blog? You’ve woven them both in here, Angela – but the conversation has not gotten testy because you’ve made us all sit back for a moment and think. It seems that, whatever the topic, you can get inside our heads and make us see the world differently. Sometimes it’s kink and sometimes it’s just basic humanity.
