    We all should. It is our primary instruction, as followers of Christ, that we must love one another.
    It is, I hope, a matter of emphasis, that leads men like Bishop Tobin to stark rejections of loving spirits. Perhaps he sees “pride” and reads “boasting and self-aggrandizement”. Perhaps he fails to see that our fellow beings on the spectra of gender and sexuality seek to approach God in their practice of love of their partners as imperfectly as Mary and Joseph or any other set of humans.
    Perhaps he never has known that shame feeds the false whispers of the deceiver, and allow needless barriers to be built between man and the love of virtue and the practice of virtue which leads us to communion.
    Perhaps and perhaps not, but what matters is that we cannot shame nor can we vilify a person into a good person. Good can only come from good. This is why all are called upon to love LGBTQ people. ?
